NOMU S30 Review:
(REVIEW OF SPECIFICATION & FEATURES)
Nomu is a china based smartphone manufacturing company, known for launching rugged devices such as the Nomu S10 which was acknowledged by many customers for its durability and lower prices. This triggered Nomu into developing the upgraded version of this stylish smartphone the “Nomu S30“.
The Nomu S30 4G Phablet which is the latest device launched by Nomu is the successor of Nomu S10 launched in 2016. It is a rugged device just like its predecessor, Nomu S30 is a good device overall with some extraordinary features offered at an affordable cost price.
In this article, we will be reviewing the Nomu S30 which was recently launched and is said to be a great buy for rugged smartphone users.
Design-
The Nomu S30 4G Phablet has been built to withstand any kind of circumstances, it has been built to be durable enough that the customer can take it anywhere with them be it hiking or under water maybe into a waterfall for some reason. I have to say, Nomu has certainly done a remarkable job here
It has a very peculiar look making this device different from other smartphones. Although its thick, when you hold it doesn’t feel uncomfortable to hold which is very nice. It has a nice metal finish on the sides with firm buttons adding up to the overall look of this smartphone.
Display-
The Nomu S30 comes with a Full HD 1080×1920 pixels 5.5″ inch capacitive touch screen which has a pixel density of 401 Pixels per inch giving you a very nice viewing experience. The display has a viewing angle of 178o
For extra protection, this device comes with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which will protect this device from every scratch making it shock proof, dust proof and also vibrational damages. Durability at its best.
Hardware-
The Nomu S30 comes with MediaTek Helio P10(MT6755) SoC consisting of ARM Cortex-A53 Octa core processor clocking at the speed of 2.0 GHz. It also includes ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU clocking at 700MHz. It has 4GB LPDDR type 3 RAM and 64 GB ROM.
The hardware specifications are quite heavy but the performance of S30 is not that promising, though it’s really good for normal users but for heavy users, there is a tad bit of lag to be found while multi-tasking.
Camera-
A rugged phone with a pro like a camera is very handy to keep and with the Nomu S30, you will be getting this, that too at a very affordable rate. On the front, we have a nice 13MP Sony IMX214 Exmor RS shooter. It has all the essential features like Autofocus, HDR, and RAW mode shooting, etc.
On the back, we have a 5MP shooter which captures decent selfies but only in daylight conditions, at night the pictures are noisy and the pictures are a little blurry. It comes with a single LED flash for its rear camera for adding light to darker images.
Software-
We get android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box on the Nomu S30 which is great for users, although the chances of getting an update for Nougat is not sure but it’s still not confirmed.
Battery-
As we previously said on the review of AGM X2 rugged devices are primarily famous for their massive batteries and here we get a 5000mAh battery which will easily give you a battery life for 2 days which is good enough for anybody and especially for explorers this the best they can get for a price it’s tagged with.
There is another great feature you get here which is quick charge technology. The charger which comes with Nomu S30 is developed in such a way that it can charge your device 40% faster than a normal charger. The company guarantees that you can get 4 hours of battery life by charging this device for 5 mins.
Price-
The Nomu S30 4G Phablet is priced at a price tag of around $230 which is very less for the kind of features we get here and the kind of unbreakable durability.
Few interesting Features
- IP68
The Nomu S30 in an IP68 certified waterproof device which can survive depths of 5m for 2 hours which also means that you can take underwater pictures with this. It is not only waterproof but also dustproof, shockproof and temperature resistant too.

I normally really liked the Phone but this phone is not good as company telling us. Yes, the price is cool, but beyond that, the phone is really low grade quality. They advertised 5000mAH battery with quick charging, but it is not true. Very slow charging and dropping charge very quickly. The sound quality of speaker is terrible. When you wanted to show the volume on the speaker on YouTube you started to crank up the volume before the video started and therefore it didn’t turn up the media volume but your ringtone. Many of the sensors are not working. It is not convenient to use. There are a lot of better phones out there Like a AGM X1. it’s not looking very bulky and ugly like other rugged smartphones. Just 26g heavier than Iphone 7 plus and look like a normal smartphone. Its Dual camera quality beaten all rugged smartphones camera and even Samsung and Iphone. it
have useful softwares which are very vital for outdoor activities. Now it is avaiable in 18K Gold just for 270$
yes AGM X1 could be a better replacement of this smartphone
